Managing Conflict with Your Manager
In organizations, tensions between individuals must either be defused or focused on the issue in order to find productive solutions to problems. This is especially important in conflicts between people at different levels of the organization, for example when a conflict arises between you and your manager. Dealing with these tensions is not easy. Conflict can cause unease, anger and inappropriate behavior. Emotions such as fear and resentment may surface. Unclear boundaries of authority, use of power, recourse to politics and ineffective support systems may also emerge.
