IT Law — Within the Framework of KVKK and GDPR
Information collected from open sources is often personal data as well; the boundary of intelligence and data work is drawn by law. This module provides a comparative treatment of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK; with the 2024 amendments on special categories of data and cross-border transfers) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): core principles, conditions for processing, the concept of “publicly disclosed data”, data subject rights, data breach notification and VERBİS. Cybercrimes (Turkish Penal Code arts. 243–245) and offences relating to personal data (Turkish Penal Code arts. 135–138), as well as Law No. 5651, are also addressed through OSINT/GEOINT practice.
This training is a module of the Kentmetre Akademi program and consists of three live sessions. You may request a quote for a version tailored to your organization using the form alongside, or you may also attend individually.
